Gemologist
We are looking for a dedicated Gemologist to join our team!
Key responsibilities

Use of standard, high tech, and specialty gem testing equipment to examine diamonds to determine their natural origin in accordance with IIDV guidelines and procedures

Maintain diamond evaluating accuracy and maintain GIA grading alignment

Communicate with Consumers and Retail Partners in a timely manner regarding valuation reports

Perform physical inventory on a daily/weekly/monthly schedule
-
Accurately process and maintain inventory transactions, reports and records
-
Ability to maintain production levels per management expectations

Attend at least one Diamond Buying and Trade-up event per month
Education/Qualifications/Skills
-
GIA Graduate Gemologist
-
BA or BS degree preferred
-
Previous appraisal experience a plus
-
Understanding of diamond pricing in today's marketplace

Understanding of precious metals
-
Basic knowledge of coloured stones
-
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a diamond grading laboratory preferred

Experience with reading and interpreting grading reports from major diamond grading labs (GIA, AGS, IIDGR)

Customer service/retail experience
